Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil
by V.E. Schwab
DID NOT FINISH: 60%
It's too long. Not that I mind long books, but at several points in the story I've thought that I was nearing the end only to find I was at 30 percent or something like that.
The novel appear to take inspiration from Anne Rice's Interview with a vampire's narrative form. However, the plot gives me a fatigue, not sure to it's characters or events, but because of its pace.
But love the South American gothic vibe, as well as what I experience as organic and unassuming LGBTQ relationships that fit the plot well
