Well, I tried. This is one of those books that it SEEMS like I should like it, and yet... I did not.
I am generally a fan of historical books with feminist characters but this was just TOO anachronistic for me, not to mention the heavy "I'm not like other girls!" overtones. The love story was way too forced. One minute she was "I won't let his handsome face affect me like other girls would!" and yet she spent every page after constantly commenting about how handsome he was, ugh. And the love interest himself is... an ass? A know-it-all jerk?
Idk I guess a lot of people liked these books and you might too but nope, not for me. DNF at 18% so I won't even count it for the year.
