The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead by Max Brooks
4.0
The title says it all: this is a complete, comprehensive guide to surviving the zombie apocalypse. It explores zombie preparation on a level that very few have dared to dream of. If you're serious about your survival, this is the book for you.
This reads like a textbook rather than a fictional book with helpful bullet pointed lists and illustrations. The "historical" accounts of zombies at the conclusion of the book really tie the entire thing together. This is an excellent (unintentional...?) companion book to World War Z. I highly recommend reading them together. In fact, this is an excellent companion book to anything about zombies.
I've noticed that a lot of people I know who have read this book disagree about whether it should be categorized as humor or horror. Honestly, the book is such a complete and wonderful mixture of both that it's hard to say. If nothing else, this survival guide really makes readers hyper aware of the shortcomings of their homes in the face of disaster...
