Format: Audiobook

Performance: I adored the voice actress and really felt like she did a great job portraying characters and emotions. 

Review:

I still cannot stop thinking about this book. It did take a bit in the beginning to catch my attention, however I am glad I was able to stick it out. At first, I was absolutely pissed at the mom but learning what she went through and why she acted the way she did… it was just understandable. I am very sensitive and with books it is no exception. I was such a mess especially towards the end. I learned a lot about Russia (or at the time it was the USSR) and though I knew the German side of them invading in the 40s, I did not realize the severity and how Stalin left Leningrad to starve or fall. Highly, highly recommend!
