Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho
3.0

A bit suprised with the "11 minutes" definition the author brings out in the book. Lot of great lines. A different attempt.

Few great lines from the book :

  • Life moves very fast. It moves from heaven to hell in a matter of seconds.

  • one never knows what life may have in store for us, and its always good to know where the emergency exit is.

  • I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. Its all a question of how I view my life.

  • If I can walk on my own I can go anywhere.

  • Life always waits for some crisis to occur before revealing itself at its most brilliant

  • A writer once said that it is not time that changes man, nor knowledge; the only thing that can change somone's mind is Love. What nonsense ! The person who wrote that clearly knew only one side of the coin. Love is undoubtedly one of the things capable of changing a person's whole life, from one moment to next. But there is the other side of the coin, the second thing that could make a human being take a totally different course from the one he or she had planned; and that was called Despair.

  • Thats what the world is like: people talk as if they knew everything, but if you dare to ask a question, they dont know anything.

  • Beauty changes as swiftly as the wind.

  • Some people were born to face life alone, and this is neither good nor bad, it is simply life.

  • After all, being young inevitably means making mistakes.

  • Profound desire, true desire is the desire to be close to someone.

  • Anyone who practises sport knows this:if you want to achieve your objectives, you have to be prepared for a daily dose of pain or discomfort

  • If a person wants to take drugs, in the form of sex or whatever, that's their problem; the consequences of their actions will be better or worse depending on the choices they make. But if we are talking in terms of making progress in life, we must understand that 'good enough' is very different from 'best'.

  • What the eyes don't see, the heart doesn't grieve over.
