Harley Quinn: The Animated Series Volume 2: Legion of Bats! by Tee Franklin

3.0

I liked this comic, however not as much as I thought I would. I was disappointed that the art style inside was so much different than the cover. I LOVE the art on the cover. The comic itself, not so much. The art inside is also very inconsistent. Harley looks like a different person at the beginning of this comic than at the end! (I prefer her at the end. So pretty!)

I also felt like the representation in this comic is superficial. They call Ivy a boss bitch without showing how she is one. It feels a bit like they are trying to get through a checklist of diversity, instead of having things come up in a natural way. Of course, I am not aware of the authors' intentions or anything, but that is how it is coming across. They need to show, not tell. This comic feels very Feminism 101, and that's if I am being generous.

I do love Harley, Ivy, and the different bats, so I do not regret buying this comic per se, but I probably would have gotten a different comic with them in it if I was aware of what I've outlined above. There were quite a few small moments that I enjoyed, but the couple big issues brought the whole experience down to deserve a 3 star review from me.
