We all know how the story of Achilles and Patroclus ends, and still every time I read this book I think "maybe they'll live happily ever after this time." Miller nails it with the mix of fantastic characterization that endears us to these ancient men, and impeccable research that makes it feel like a genuine representation of a very well known myth. It's a bestseller for a reason.
