Entertaining, but suffered from the same issue as Sword of Kaigen where all of the themes were delivered in an extremely heavy-handed and oversimplified way. The book's exploration of sexism and colonialism would have been more believable and impactful if the characters and plot points didn't perfectly fit every stereotypical representation of the topics.

Racism and sexism *can* exist even if the perpetrators aren't generic, predictable, mustache-twirling villains. I wish the story had explored less obvious and more nuanced depictions of these real world issues.
