Graphic: Sexual content
The primary love scene in this story is scary and questionable to read. There is nothing sexy about sexual pain. This story contributes to the myth that all first sexual experiences are painful (they don’t have to be). And major red flags that Eilis wouldn’t feel like she could say something in the moment and that Tony would be completely oblivious and apathetic regarding her pain. I don’t normally leave content warnings like this— but this portion of the story was disturbing to read.
