Wrangled Love by Ann Einerson
3.75
Jensen's spent his adult life staying as far away from his hometown of Bluebell, Montana while building his tech company. That all changes when he finds out that he has a five year old son that just lost his mom to cancer. In an attempt to surround him with care and love during his difficult transition, Jensen puts Caleb first and moves home to Bluebell for the summer. But while working remote and dealing with his son's trauma and his refusal to speak, Jensen focuses on who is around Caleb to make him feel comfortable and open up.
Insert Briar, Jensen's best friend's little sister. Eight years his junior, Briar has opened her cabin to the pair while managing the cabins on the family's ranch for the summer's rentals. That is, until Jensen proposes that Briar become Caleb's nanny after seeing how quickly he opened up to her.
Wrangled Love was exactly what I expected it to be. While there were times that were a little sad just because of what Caleb was going through after losing his mom, the story between Briar and Jensen was really sweet. It was nice to see how the story unfolded pretty naturally and felt real.
While I enjoyed the book, it's hard not to compare to others in the genre. And for that I'm giving this one 3.75 ⭐️ but rounding up to 4 for the sake of this review. It's not at the same level of some of my favorite Elsie Silver novels as far as small town cowboy romance goes, but this one is still worth a read! There are some spicy scenes that were pretty well written, too. All in all, an enjoyable and quick read that was paced well, in my opinion.
Thank you to the Smuthood for the ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
