Alice in Wonderland is a book written in the Victorian era. Despite this, the book is a stark departure from normal Victorian structures within prose. It is sporadic, comical, and incredibly witty. The tone is very funny and reflects a childlike wonder.

It does appear to present with drug paraphernalia, however, I think this was a deliberate attempt for Carol to depict the nature of dreams. Dreams tend to be nonsensical, fast paced and full of drama and eclectic randomness. I think this book reflects this very strongly rather than the drug theory.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable book that took me back to my childhood and I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting it.
