In a Country of Mothers by A.M. Homes

4.0

This is only my second Homes novel but I gotta say that I get a kick out of these twisted, somehow relatable, messed-up, kinda normal characters. I don't need my characters to be likable or virtuous, they just need to be interesting. Not that I found Jody or Claire unlikable, just compellingly flawed. I don't find Homes moving or endearing, but I certainly plow through her books. Hmmmm
