The Birthday List by Devney Perry

5.0

When I say I love a book, I’m talking about this one

This book has my entire heart in a way I cannot explain. I thought I’d loved Devney before, but this confirmed it. The way she wrote Cole was perfect. While the circumstances he met Poppy in weren’t ideal, years later he got his chance. Let me say, so well deserved. I need a Cole, too please.

After Poppy’s husband passed she had a plan. One she thought she’d pursue alone, until Cole. Here comes gentle, kind, and loving Cole who’d wait lifetimes for her.

While they complete Jamie’s list, lines get crossed and Poppy realizes Cole’s become more than her friend. He’s become everything she thought she’d never have again. And while she’s confused, she’s never felt more alive than with him.

“I started his list, hoping I’d find closure. Hoping I’d be able to let go of the past and start to live for the future. But I was wrong. Finishing the list didn’t give me a future. You did.”

Throughout it all he never left, even when she wanted him too. He waited for her like he’d wait a million more lifetimes… somewhere throughout those few weeks they spent together, she became his everything. It was all so perfect.

But lefts not forget those side characters… Finn, Randell, Molly, and Jamie’s grandfather (I forgot his name oops) they were so perfect too.

I can go on about how I love this book like the fair, pool of jello, Cole getting them out of jail, him buying her a puppy, ughhhh I can’t not love them.

“Will you do something for me”
“In a heartbeat”

Now if you’ll excuse me… I’ll be opening a restaurant and joining a karate class!!!
