Stirring Spurs by M.A. Wardell
4.5

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions and M.A. Wardell for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review! This was my first M.A. Wardell book and it did not disappoint. I mean I don’t think you can really go wrong with a queer ranch filled with cowboys and a mischievous mini horse.

Stirring Spurs follows Boone Adams, one of the Adams siblings, who is the cook/carer out at Rainbow Ranch, known for its welcoming environment to anyone queer, questioning, or allying. Boone has always been the helpful one, always putting everyone first and making sure no one goes hungry or alone. But he’s put himself on the back burner for awhile, and everyone around him hopes that he’ll find someone who also takes care of him.
Enter rugged cowboy Wylie who is at Rainbow Ranch to help tame Noodles, one of their rescue horses. It’s just one stop of many as he navigates the life of a lonely cowboy. That is until he meets Boone, and sparks instantly fly between them. Could it be that Wylie has finally found a place to call home?

I am actually obsessed with this cheesy, loved up ranch and all the Adams siblings and of course Dennis the menace. Filled with all the cowboy twang, delicious food, and some hot and spicy moments between our cookie and cowboy.
Wylie and Boone felt like such a perfect match and I really appreciated the fact that there was no real conflict. Sure a little hesitation in the communication department but that’s to be expected with the back stories of these characters.
This was such a cute read for Pride month but also just such a heartwarming story for anyone looking to find where they belong. I cannot wait for book 2 by Clio Evans, Beau deserves his happy ending!
