Beauty Is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan
2.0

I’m still contemplating what to write about this book. A messy saga about the family of a prostitue
I truly enjoyed the setting and the varied characters but as mentioned by other readers. Certain sines might be too direct.

I will give it this. The beginning of the novel? Wonderful.

"One afternoon on a weekend in March, Dewi Ayu rose from her grave after being dead for twenty-one years."

That’s a hook that’ll drag you in. Unfortunately, at some parts the slack is let too loose and it’s easy to loose interest
