A Court of Silver Flames
by Sarah J. Maas
Nesta is not Feyre and that’s ok.
I didn’t enjoy this as much as the others and not because of the spotlight changing characters. It’s quite a feat to turn a character you’ve tolerated or been told so many times is a terrible sister to then detailing her story and changing your point of view that she’s not actually that bad underneath it all.
What I didn’t enjoy so much about this book was the smut. Honestly like a bit of smut in books but I thought this was a bit too much when the story could have progressed more. As by the end of the book there are still so many questions left unanswered which is clearly where the series will take it’s next direction. But please give us more action (not the naked kind) and get on with it.
Also didn’t like the lack of the other characters not being around, Mor specifically as she’s cool as anything. The excuses made to keep Rhys and Feyre out of it but still integral to the story just seemed to puzzle me at times. I thought this was Nesta and Cassian’s centre stage moment?
I feel like I’m bashing this book when I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and didn’t hate it at all. Just in my opinion I didn’t think this was the authors best work.
And the introduction of Gwyn and Emerie just stole my heart. Hope they stay in the series going forward. Totally here for it!
Still excited to see what happens next and hope Nesta continues to take centre stage as the series goes into its next phase of the story.
Keep up the amazing work Sarah J Maas. Always and forever a loyal reader.
