extremely long. this also felt extremely repetitive at times, especially when it came to physical descriptions of characters.
the writing was interesting, or at least it was trying to be but not often succeeding lol..i did not hate it, enjoyed some metaphors and even some of the many many many comparisons, but it overall felt a bit heavy

we see the world through ophélie’s eyes except she’s boring and she’s not helped bu the plot which is pretty slow moving (400 pages before the events started piquing my interest). now i’m all for a character driven novel, they’re probably my favorites, but the characters need to give us SOMETHING! here i got close to nothing, except from some side characters.

on top of that the one sided ‘’romance’’ came out of nowhere? the lack of development can make sense given the fact that we are in Ophélie’s head and that she feels nothing for him but the way in which she convinced herself he was deeply in love with her after that one interaction is kind of ridiculous.

never say never but i don’t think i’ll keep reading this series, the ending didn’t really hook me but who knows?
