All the Devils by Catelyn Wilson

3.0

I was really drawn in by the description of this book as I love mysteries, dark magic and a boarding school setting. The cover art is also beautiful.

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to receive an ARC of this book.
Unfortunately, I don't feel like I have been able to make any sort of connection to the characters and the pacing of the first half of the book is so fast. There are too many things happening and being uncovered one after the other. I didn't feel there was any chance to actually digest what was happening and figure out how we felt about what was developing.

In my opinion, it would have been beneficial to have more time getting to know the MC outside of her relationship with her sister. To maybe even have an insight in to their relationship so we can understand Andy's POV better.
There is also a lack of world building and exploration of the setting. My main criticism is that we are thrown in to the deep end with no chance of catching our breath.

Though I felt this way, I can appreciate some readers would enjoy these aspects of the book, as well as fans of the dark academia genre.
