I liked the first 40%. It was engaging and loved fast enough for me to stay engaged. I laughed out loud a couple times. Then I hit 45% and it slowed way down and I lost all interest or motivation to read it. It takes half the book to get married twice. I started reading at speed then, having switched the audiobook. His writing is good but verbose and florid and his pacing is slow. Dickens and I will never be friends. I had to convince myself not to dnf this book (and I don’t dnf books as a rule)
