How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black

5.0

This is the point of view we never knew we needed, narrating stories from Prince King Cardan's life. I devoured this book and I could have completed this in one sitting if it wasn't for my monthly exams.
“You don’t think monster girls and wicked boys deserve love?”

I agree with everyone in this book's reviews - IT IS TOO SHORT AND WE NEED MORE! Everything about this book was just perfect: the beautiful illustrations, the 360 degree back to Aslog at the ending, the flow of words and the story itslef. Just perfect.
"A sharp tongue is no match for a sharp tooth."

I absolutely adored the magical, fairy tale-like quality to this book. It is like a series of short stories, but they are all interconnected and each one unveils details about Cardan's life and background. I am definately going to read more of Holly Black!
“A heart of stone can still be broken.”
