This book has a little bit of everything from fantasy to suspense to romance. The New Orleans setting gives spooky vibes that I thoroughly enjoyed and the family secrets made everything mysterious. It took a little bit to start picking up on the concept but once we are about to start the competition I was so excited to see what was going to happen. I really enjoyed Ophelia’s character and I enjoyed seeing her grow into herself. The challenges are disturbing but in a way that I oddly enjoyed. Blackwell was an amazing morally grey MMC and i loved the connection between him and Ophelia. One of my favorite things though is the twists because I thought I knew what was going to happen and I still somehow got surprised. Ultimately, I am a HUGE fan of this book!
