Hunk for the Holidays by Katie Lane

4.0

This book was tons of fun and brought a little holiday cheer to my August. I’ve enjoyed Katie Lane and her Deep in the Heart of Texas series but she went a little cooler and took her readers to winter in Colorado with Hunk for the Holidays. Cassie has been serving as the VP in her family’s successful construction company but what she really wants is to get out in the field and get her hands dirty again. She doesn’t want to stay behind a desk much longer. And with her father recovering she’s been taking on more and more responsibility. This leaves her no time for a relationship so she has resorted to other means to find a date for functions. When James walks in to the office he takes her breath away and she can’t believe her luck for the night. But James isn’t who she thinks he is, he’s actually one of her biggest competitors. James thinks he can play along with Cassie’s misunderstanding, he can always reveal who he is later, but when the night continues their connection grows and suddenly the right time doesn’t seem to come. When the truth is revealed will Cassie be able to forgive James? Or will they both let something so good slip away? This was a really fun and funny story. It takes place over a long weekend so it seems a little too quick for me but I love the story any way. Great connection between Cassie and James and fun secondary characters that added lots of humor. I hear there may be more from these characters coming so I’ll be excited to read more from this fun Italian/Scottish family!
