The Hush by John Hart

3.0

I really liked the Last Child (so much that I re-read it right before starting this one). I really should not have bothered. This book stands on it's own without the previous one.

This started off good but quickly went downhill for me. I enjoy stories with magic/dark magic/witchcraft but this one was too unbelievable for me. A dark force that is killing people by crushing them alive? I was okay with that mystery and other things that were happening in the Hush. This book totally lost me with the unearthing of a 100+ year old "dead" girl who was actually alive the whole time. And the very old man who buried her still alive as well and causing all the distress in the Hush? That is where I could no longer suspend my disbelief and it all became too "out there" for me.

I was hopeful it would be as good as the Last Child but it was not even close.
