Even though this story was an insta-lust I liked how it progressed. Tyler is a smokejumper. Feeling like he has always been a disappointment to his step-father, a well known smokejumper himself. He has been married, didn't last, decided that marriage is not the life for him, as he is focused on his work. Callie lives in California, but is back in Montana helping her father on his wolf sanctuary while he recovers from a heart attack. She left Montana as soon as she could because she felt like she always came after the wolves in her dad's life. Tyler and Callie meet at the sanctuary because Callie's father refuses to leave the wolves even if there is a massive wildfire bearing down on them. The chemistry is explosive. Tyler starts thinking maybe a girl can be in his future. Callie starts thinking, maybe she doesn't hate Montana as much as she thought. Can long distance work for them? Will their stubborness with their current way of life make things too hard? Enjoyed it as a quick read, though insta-lust/love isn't really my favorite trope.
