Blood Lines by Angela Marsons

5.0

Kim Stone is back in the 5th instalment from the talented Angela Marsons and I know I say this every time but this one is the best (to be honest they are all blooming brilliant).

I’d say this book could be read as a standalone but really you would be better to read them all in order, although throughout the book, references to the past are described pretty well so would leave the reader feeling fulfilled, but it’s such a fantastic series you’d be missing out if you started here.

Picking up this book was like catching up with an old friend, through this series the reader really gets to know Kim Stone but like any friend there’s always more to find out and in Bloodlines we delve a little more into Kim’s past and her relationship with her mum, all thanks to the EVIL Dr Alex Thorne, yes the evil sociopath Dr is back and is still up to no good (shivers). Kim’s team is also still with her, Bryant, Dawson and Stacie. They are a close team who are always on hand to back up Kim and it’s been great reading over the series how the relationships within this team has developed.

The story covers two plots, a murder investigation and the return of Dr Alexandra Thorne who is planning Kim’s downfall from within her prison walls and playing serious mind tricks again (shivers again). Both plots are equally engrossing and the author does a fantastic job of bringing them together.

I tend to find when I pick up an Angela Marson book time seems to slip away, I get so involved in the story that everything else gets ignored. From page one I’ve been caught, hook, line and sinker and I think the family have realised that they will not get a sensible answer or any answer for that matter until I’ve finished the book.

Bloodlines is another blood pumping thriller that gets under your skin. Full of twists and edge of your seat moments this is a definite 5 star read that I highly recommend.
