Damn. Women really are born with pain built in! This should be a required reading for everyone who wants to know how a culture of misogyny permeates every single phase of any woman's life. The ending was especially eerie, too, because
I was expecting the book to end on a relatively happy note, but instead we end up with a chapter from her male therapist's point of view where his own offhand comments contributed to all the oppressive experiences Jiyoung and every women had—and has—to go through.
We are all Kim Jiyoung.
