Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

5.0

Unfortunately, I started Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban right before school started, so it took me awhile to finish. I think this books is more 4.5 stars for me, but because of all the back to school chaos, I'm rounding it up to 5 stars since my thoughts aren't very cohesive when I take a long time to finish a book.

So far, I think this one is my favorite (but then again I still have four books left). I loved all the mystery behind Professor Trelawney's predictions and Hermione's (who I love just...so much) schedule. The series is definitely starting to get much darker from here but all the characters still have their fun, childish moments. The plot is also getting more complex, which I appreciate. I felt though like so much of the plot twists and background were explained via dialogue. I know in some cases this is unavoidable, but at some point it just got boring reading the logistics of how a certain plan was carried out for pages and pages. And towards the end of the book when Peter Pettigrew was revealed, there was so much talking amidst the "I will kill you!!!" threats. Like...if you want to kill the dude that bad, you really don't have to sit through a whole conversation first...

Otherwise, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was great. I now really want a wand and an owl.
