The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

5.0

This is definitely one of my favorite books I've read this year. It's absolutely beautifully written and tells a story no memoir could -- having death narrate a book like this allows it to tell us more about life than any other narrator perspective could.

I love the characters, I love the story, and I love the beauty and pain and the way you can't have one without another.

I won't disrespect the book by trying to describe it further, but let it be known that this is the highest 5-star rating that I have ever given (if I could make the rating higher).
