At Bertram's Hotel by Agatha Christie
4.0

An old-fashioned London Hotel is not quite as reputable as it makes out!

When Miss Marple comes up from the country for a holiday in London, she finds what she's looking for at Bertram's: traditional décor and impeccable service. But she senses an unmistakable atmosphere of danger behind the highly polished veneer. Not even Miss Marple can foresee the violent chain of events set in motion when an eccentric guest makes his way to the airport one day late!

I thoroughly enjoyed this Miss Marple mystery. The lovely little details about her London holiday, her village home and village neighbours just added to the easy flow of the story. The characters are so well described and so believable and the plot was intricate enough to satisfy.

I read all the Agatha Christie books when I was a teenager and was always a huge Marple fan (although I never really liked Poirot) and I'm so glad I've rediscovered them.
