This is absolutely my favorite in the series
Why? because it is Bridgerton (The Viscount who loved me) meets Mafia
⚜Genre: Dark Romance
⚜Theme: Mafia romance
⚜Targeted audience: Adults
⚜Characters: Reyna, Spider (Quinn)
⚜TW: violence- DA - Murder - explicit scenes
⚜ tropes: Enemie-ish to lovers - Forced Proximity/ Arranged marriage - touch/insult her and die
⚜ POV: double third person
⚜ spice 🌶🌶 🌶🌶🌶🌶 with kinks and role play
⚜ rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
⚜standalone: yes, but it is best to read it in order of the series to understand the events
⚜Ending: HEA
The last thing I expected from Geissenger is for her to make me interested in reading a book about a side character I did not like in the previous book. But boy oh boy! Spider can crawl on my body all day long
and I would turn for Reyna
Both Spider and Reyna prove that no matter how lethal, ruthless and heartless you appear, no matter the body count (killing that is) they have, these Mafia people crave to be chosen and loved just like the rest of us.
I absolutely loved the banter and comebacks between the two
I loved that Reyna is a badass bitch who is not a quivering mafia princess waiting for others to rescue her.
But what totally sold me and made this book my ultimate JTG favor is the Bridgerton inspiration
So our MMC, Spider aka QUINN (as in Julia QUINN) is recovering from a traumatic experience where he was rejected by the object of his desire making him forsake anything to do with love and accept an arranged marriage with a young Italian Mafia princess. While there to agree on a contract with her dad, he meets the VIPER - Reyna, her aunt. She is feisty, strong, and unapologetic. At first, there is a dislike between the two, and wishes to kill each other, which later evolves into admiration and desire. Certain circumstances force them to get married and so forth and hence
You know, Like Anthony and Kate
but it is when Spider says "I must be a gentleman" that just sent me into a hysterical fit of laughter because this could not have been any more perfect
