Did not finish book. Stopped at 42%.

Some part of me feels guilty for DNF'ing this (especially considering I received it as a gift), but I just...could not care less about it. The writing is bland and uninspired, the world-building is lacking, and the whole thing just feels juvenile. The character motivations never made sense, and it seemed like the book was going so far out of its way to avoid any semblance of tension in any of the relationships. 

I'm not opposed to reading other Rebecca Ross works (I've heard SUCH good things about her), but truly this one is just not for me :(
