Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy
3.0
DNF.
I began this book without reading the blurb or anything about the story at all, and that's my own fault, because I downloaded the book believing it was about Drew and Fable. I know, I'm an idiot. However, I remember being intrigued by Jen and Colin's story and so read along gladly. A few chapters in and I found the story stale and unbelievable. I didn't believe that they were good friends, where was the proof? And I didn't believe that they could feel so much for each other but do nothing about it. There didn't seem enough reason to and, in truth, I didn't particularly care about their future. Not like I had for Fable and Drew's.
I'll finish by saying I love Monica's writing and that's the very reason I've given this book a 3 star rating despite not finishing. My not finishing had little to do with the writing and everything to do with my own false expectations.
