I thought we'd seen the last of the bleeping Gizzida but when they fled the ragtag bunch of survivors who kicked their scaly asses, they left behind some of their experiments.  Experiments that have continued to mutate and hybridise and now a new generation of warriors are needed to combat them.  Enter Hunter Squad!

Jameson (son of Marcus and Elle (Hell Squad #1), leads Hunter Squad.  He and his team leap from Quadcopters, hunt big nasties and are all around heroes to the other non-combatant survivors. He's never been one for relationships though,  How can he when the next mission may be the one that unalives him.

Greer, (daughter of Claudia and Shaw (Hell Squad #7) is an amazing engineer and is working on keeping power going to their small encampments and towns. But her latest project is plagued by some nasties and she finally calls in Jameson to eradicate them.  These two...oh lordy they have been circling each other for years.  Neither of them wanted to rock their friendship, and their families are so close - things would get hella messy if things went wrong!

Jameson is rough, tough, and a great friend and team-mate. He's been a bit of a player but Greer has always been his...everything.  Greer is very much her parents daughter - she's crazy smart, brave, determined, opinionated and a hard worker. She is also one helluva shot!

These two may go from zero to 100 in 0.5 seconds but they've already done the getting to know you thing for the last 20-odd years!  They already know each other's quirks, flaws and foibles.  Now they need to get to know the hidden parts, the parts that they keep deep inside themselves, only letting a trusted few ever get close enough to see.  And can I say that whilst Shaw may be the Sniper in the family, Claudia is the one Jameson should worry about upsetting the most, lol.  The bonding scene between Marcus and Shaw was hilarious!

You don't need to have read the Hell Squad series to understand this world but it would help you see the evolution of the fight back from the Gizzida Invasion to now.

There is some blood/gore and some co-workers don't make it to the end of the book.
