Eerie setting, perfect for spooky vibes. A little bit grumpy/sunshine-y but not full trope, I love a broody MMC. It was entertaining and I did love and root for our characters. The bond between Elena and Ivy was so sweet and genuine.
My hold ups with this book are spoiler-ish:
- I hated that you immediately hate Lorne and would have been WAY creepier if you kind of slowly learn that he's a sociopath.
- There is a lot I can stretch for books, but this one just glossed over things and I was so bugged by the logistics, it just pulled me out of it.
- If it wasn't overly stated, I really wouldn't know that the FMC is Ukrainian, this goes with my comment above, just hard to believe certain plot elements.
- This was a very light dark romance.
