When the Wind Blows
by James Patterson
This is a good fast paced thriller that takes the ideas and drivers behind genetic engineering and turns its attention to the human race and how to make people 'better', all against the calm cosy backdrop of the Rockies. There are plenty of twists and turns and lots of excitement with car chases, shooting matches and conspiracies as rogue FBI agent Kit Harrison and local vet Frannie O'Neill take on armed guards, high powered politicians and big business. A good all round read.
