I’m not sure if I just didn’t properly understand this book but I thought it was a bit underwhelming considering all of the hype it has. I found the beginning to be pretty flat. Although there was an underlying tension and I knew it was building up to something, I just found myself losing interest a lot which made me put the book down multiple times. I feel like this would’ve been better if I had just read the book in one sitting since it’s pretty short, but I just couldn’t. 

I’ve heard Ian Reid is an amazing author and I really do still want to read Foe, but this book just kind of missed the mark for me. I’m giving it a 3.25/5 ⭐️ because I really did enjoy the suspense but the reveal felt mid.
