Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven

This book was fascinating, disturbing, and thought-provoking. I have read reviews that discussed the fact that the characters acted unrealistically, jumping right into violence and crazy behavior. I can see that, but I personally thought that was necessary for the story and how it was set up. I’d like to think that calmer minds would prevail in the situation they were thrown in, but this book is really just asking…would they? I found the possibility that they might not terrifying and very interesting to consider. I also loved the interview format the author used. For me, it made it more like a documentary than fiction. Overall, I highly recommend.
