Coronavirus: A Book for Children by Nia Roberts, Elizabeth Jenner, Graham Medley, Axel Scheffler, Kate Wilson

This is a very important book. There should be a universal broadcast of this book so everyone reads it.

I didn't care for the way it downplayed how many people the virus puts in serious danger. It almost has a feel of the majority of people being fit but staying home so elderly people don't die. Really, a much bigger chunk of the population is getting hit, and recovering from this virus can have serious lifelong side effects. This is probably meant to keep children calm. However, when their Aunt gets a heart condition after surviving the virus, or when a newborn baby cousin dies from it, that's a big gap. I don't want it to be scarier, but it's important to know that grandma isn't the only one we're trying to protect. And it's not wrong to point out that recovery from the virus might not mean being perfectly healthy ever again.

Other than this, it's a good book. It's needed right now. Children aren't the only ones who need to read this. It might be important to add a few lines about why not sacrificing other humans is important, why we should want to keep our fellow people alive. (It seems obvious to some of us, but a scroll in the newsfeed proves that some people need that information.)

A good book. But it needs a little more. Just a little more.
