The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

5.0

I seldom reread a book. However, this was the book that made me fall in love with reading again just a few years ago. And when the author released a 10 year anniversary illustrated version with supplemental material and autographed it, I decided to INDULGE. For those that know me well, indulging is sort of a rarity. And that should prove how big a deal it is.

I expected that I enjoy it a little less since there wouldn't be surprises, but it would still be absolutely wonderful. But what really happened is I could zoom out and see the bigger picture better and then zoom in and see the web that was being weaved, or at least parts of it, even if the end of the trilogy has been released yet. I geeked out way harder than before because I am invested in the artistry, the mind of the creator of the characters and this world they live in and how he makes it all fit together.

I enjoyed it more.

Yes, you cant ever get back that first time, but with wisdom comes the savoring.
