Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde

3.0

For once, it's not the characters that drove this story for me. They're fleshed out well, and very human, very vulnerable, interesting enough...but I was driven more by the idea than by the characters who were presenting it. The concept of "paying it forward" is something everyone in the world should take to heart. This book was in danger of being slightly preachy at times, but it's all completely forgivable because who wouldn't forgive such a fantastic, beautiful idea that could really change the world if everyone took it to heart?
There was a lot of language, which is one my one big complaint about the book - it was wholly unnecessary, and did nothing to add to the quality of the idea. Other than that, I enjoyed the book, and it even made me tear up a little at the end.
