Me: Elton John Official Autobiography by Elton John

4.0

I listened to Elton John's 'Me' on audio, wonderfully narrated by Taron Egerton. We journey with him from his dysfunctional childhood through the excess of fame in the '70's and ending with the stable family life he clearly was always craving. He is honest about his flaws and willing to shoulder responsibility for the consequences of his own behavior. (I appreciate his respect for Renata). Suitably bitchy at times and often laugh out loud funny but undershot with a ripple of melancholy as he talks about the friends he has lost along the way. Surprisingly moving especially when he talks about Ryan White. Who knew tissues would be needed!
