Brooke comes from a horrendous family, and with her grandmother’s upcoming birthday party she is loath to attend solo. So she creates a wanted ad, basically for a fake boyfriend. She doesn’t mean to actually post it but when she accidentally does, she’s both horrified and amazed by the response.
When the guy she chooses to meet turns out to be Moss, her coworker - her flirtatious, insanely hot coworker - she ends up wondering why she didn’t just ask him in the first place.
They have chemistry, they’re clearly very fond of each other, and neither of them wants a real relationship. What could possibly go wrong?
I had a bit of a book hangover before this and was struggling to get into anything, but this was the perfect book to pick me up out of it!
The evolution of Moss and Brooke’s feelings, and their relationship as a whole, felt so natural and organic that I didn’t even really think about how fast it all happened. Their banter and friendship set such a solid foundation that the rest just came naturally.
Speaking of banter, I
