Everything All at Once by Katrina Leno
5.0

Okay I absolutely loved this book, Katrina Leno did it once again for me. Made me feel all the emotions and I have to process them all. This book is a true mixture of her book Summer of Salt, sprinkle in some Nina Lacour exploration of grief and The Invisible life of Addie Larue and you get this book.

I loved all the characters in this book. All the lovely family relationships, the parents and the brother and the friendships. I loved that her best friend was a lesbian in an established relationship with her girlfriend. I appreciated the anxiety representation. The exploration of grief. The magical realism. The letters from her aunt. The love for literature and books and magic.

I'm so glad I decided to read more of Leno's backlist and willl continue to do so until I've read them all and will have to patiently wait for a new book

Also I'll start a petition for Katrina Leno to write a book about the side characters we only saw for a little bit, the non binary person working in the thriftshop and their girlfriend Mikeala who makes art on the beach and performs in theatre shows outside the college campus. Yes I need more of them
