I actually have never read the previous books in this series/universe. This copy was discovered in the booth I worked at during the Origins gaming fair last June. As we were not able to return it to lost &found as they were closed already, this came home with me and traveled to Gen Con in hopes the person who lost the book might be attending & we could reunite the book with them.
