Fae's Deception
by Melissa A. Craven, M. Lynn
Trading Places
The suspense in this novel is above anything I expected. Brea Robinson has always been treated as though she is crazy because she could see Fae walking among humans. After spending time in a mental institution, Brea has returned to school with her best friend Myles. The whispering and constant rumors finally make her run from the school at lunch. Myles tries to defend her when another student started taunting her. A fight ensues and Brea feels the energy building inside her. A yellow light bursts across the parking lot and she passes out. When she is revived, she pleads with the officer to know if Myles was okay. The officer claims Myles would probably die in the ambulance. She was arrested for attempted murder of Myles. While waiting in a cell, Lochlan takes her into a wooded area. Suddenly, Griff appears and yanks Brea into a portal. She learns she is now in the Fae realm and that Queen Faolen and Queen Regan both want her. Griff was aligned with Queen Regan and Brea begins to trust Griff like she did Myles. Griff tells her that Myles died in the hospital. While at Queen Regans palace, Lochlan is a delegate from Eldur. Lochlan tells her that Myles is still alive and she can only trust the Ladys Maid Neeve. What do the Queens want with with Brea?
The exceptional detail makes the Fae world easy to envision. This is a solid foundation for the Queen of the Fae Realms series and I am eager to read the sequel. The character development is amazing and the intensity of emotions bring the story to life. I highly recommend this book and it deserves the 5 star rating.
