And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

5.0

How have I managed to go so long without reading any Agatha Christie before? I loved this!

The tension as they all start turning on each other; the theme of justice and who deserves to administer it; the isolated setting; the great pacing; the fact that we jump right into the action with no faffing around; the distinct characters, as intriguing as they are unlikable; the brilliant use of foreshadowing with the likes of the creepy nursery rhyme and Vera commenting on the hook on her bedroom ceiling; clues and red herrings everywhere; ugh, it's all so good.

This is the first time in a while I've truly felt that classic 'don't want to put it down' feeling that all bookworms crave. I can't wait to dive into more Christie soon.
