The Bookstore Family by Alice Hoffman
4.0
fast-paced

This short novella centers on Violet, a talented pastry chef from Brinkley Island, Maine who has spent the last several years chasing her culinary dreams in Paris but feels somewhat unmoored. Just before returning home because of her mother’s illness, she meets Remy, another pâtissier who works in the café at the Museum of Romantic Life, and a romance blossoms through the pages of their correspondence.  Enjoyable, quick read with a lot of story packed into its 43 pages.
