Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Rowan and Neil have been fighting tooth and nail to best each other through their entire high school career. With the valedictorian slot finally clinched there remains only one last face-off; the all-senior scavenger hunt and a record-breaking cash prize. A conspiracy to unseat the two overachievers means they will have to succeed at the one thing they've always failed at...working together.

The description I read compared this to The Hating Game (which I've also read) but the rivalry between those two characters felt a little too mean-spirited in a way that was hard to come back from. This struck just the right note. If it seemed a bit drawn out I also have to say that the evolution of their relationship felt more earned than a lot of other love stories I've read in this category, so maybe it was time well spent?

There are a lot of wonderful tributes to Seattle here and it reminds me of a book I loved as a tween: Remember Me to Harold Square, which also featured a citywide scavenger hunt, only in New York City. Though this takes place across the country, somehow I feel like Paula Danziger would have approved. Very fun.
