The Line Becomes a River: Dispatches from the Border by Francisco Cantú

5.0

I found this book in a random small town in WI on a shelf from a library looking for donations. It called to me immediately. Even without any background. My father is an immigrant and his journey here and to was very much like everyone Cantú writes about. I was very moved, especially by the last portion of the book prior to the Epilogue. I only hope he spoke for everyone in a just way. It seems as though he did.

There’s a lot of steam behind this book from people insisting Cantú is profiting off of others’ suffering. I don’t find that the case. We will each experience this book differently.

Very much worth a read.
