Gallant by V.E. Schwab

Olivia's parents are dead. But one day, she receives a letter from her uncle. She goes over to her uncle's house, but then it turns out that he has been dead for a while now, which is strange since Olivia just received this letter. Olivia does not feel that she is wanted there, but she is not going to leave the first place where she feels at home before having to live at an all-girls boarding school. While staying at Gallant, she figures out many things about her past, her family and who she actually is.

I love V.E. Schwabs writing, but I struggle a little with getting into the stories. Not only are the stories usually quite detailed, but they also tell a huge plot where you first need to get to know the characters a little. But once you are invested, this book is amazing. I wish that it would be possible to visit Gallant in real life. I wish to meet Olivia because she sounds wonderful, and I'd love to hug her.
